People often ask us how we manage to pull off a rich chocolate brown then transition to a radiant red, then before you know it, they are strawberry blonde! Change is our specialty and having two of the nation’s master colorists under our roof, gives us the pedigree to prove it.Our standard is to maintain the same healthy vitality, creating a style that ‘speaks’ to you, and most importantly–you must be willing to dare to be DIFFERENT!
We invited our client, Elena to the salon to demonstrate this process. We asked her if she was up to playing with color, and she gave us the green light to do whatever we wanted; we LOVE courage! Here is how it went:
The Transition
For those of us that have gone for the cute precision cuts, you know exactly what I mean when I mention the ‘in between’ stage. Elena’s highlights were way past due and her shoulder length style no longer did justice to this vibrant personality. I met with the team and we all decided that we were going DRAMATIC!
The Commitment
When deciding on a style, we really encourage our clients to consider the required maintenance:
- The daily time commitment
- Frequency of salon visits
- Required tools and products needed
In Elena’s case, we considered two directions. We could go longer with tape-in extensions. This would require an initial purchase of hair from our trusted vendor, then we would ask that she return every 5-6 weeks for upkeep.
The alternative plan was a sexy, precision A-line with outrageous color. We opted to go in this direction because we could always go back to the tape-ins when our model was ready for another transformation.
The Color Vortex
Daring and different were the culprits that led to this hidden gem! My staff and I have a motto, “coloring is not just for kids,” HA!
We lifted Elena’s blonde a few levels arriving at this beautiful platinum base. We decided to paint random pieces throughout with gold, pink, purple and sienna.
The Cut
Elena’s neck appeared dramatically elongated after we revealed the back with this structured A-line cut. We went for very long layers in the front, but opted for a short bang to frame her face.
